Take It One Step at a Time

Part of your child’s development of language is processing what he hears. Some children have a hard time processing directions if they come too fast or there are too many. If you ask your child to go get his shoes and his backpack, he may not be able to separate the two requests. Try presenting directions in small chunks of information and allow pauses in between.
