Start a Gift Closet

The next time you see an item on sale that would make a perfect birthday party gift, go ahead and buy it – even if there's no party on your calendar. When you get home, put it in your "Gift Closet," which might actually be a closet or a box or a shelf. As you find appropriate items on sale, add them to your gift closet so that you'll always have something on hand for last-minute invitations or weeks when you're just too busy to head out to the store and buy a gift.
