Sink or Float?

Understanding that some objects float and others sink is an early step to understanding buoyancy. Plus it’s fun to plop objects in a bowl of water and see what happens! Take a plastic bucket, fill it with water, and gather some water-proof objects that you know might sink or float, like a bar of soap or a wood block, and let your child experiment.
