The Shapes of Nature

To teach your toddler the basic shapes of animals, flowers, and other plants, find pictures, trace them on paper, and cut them out. In a quiet moment, take them out and play with them, asking simple questions like, “Is this a plant or an animal?” Show your child that animals have legs and tails, say, while a flower has petals and a tree has branches.
