The Science of Trees

Trees come in a seemingly endless variety of shapes and sizes. There’s so much to learn! Do they drop their leaves in the fall, or stay evergreen? What else lives in and around trees (such as bugs, squirrels, and birds)? Take your child on a tree-discovery field trip in your own backyard or local park. Find one that’s small enough that you and your child can investigate up close. Look for partly-eaten leaves (Who did that? A caterpillar?) or bugs crawling on the bark.
