Repurposed Household Toys

You don’t necessarily need fancy new toys to teach spatial reasoning and problem-solving. Letting a ball roll just under the couch and having your baby figure out how to retrieve it does the same thing. Another great alternative: Give your baby an empty tissue box and a bunch of wooden clothespins and have him try to clip the pins to the edges of the box opening, put them in and take them back out again, or shake the box and see what noise is made.
