Read and Write Jokes With Your Child

What makes a good joke? Take your child to your local library and explore some age-appropriate joke books together. Then, after you've read through them and discussed your favorites, try your hand at writing new jokes together. The exercise will give your child practice with different parts of the writing process – including brainstorming and revision – while also allowing the two of you to have fun engaging in the creative process together.
