Purchase Color-Coded Folders and Notebooks

Color-coding your child's school supplies will help her grab just what she needs for each class. First, let your child choose a different color for each subject. Then, when you're picking out supplies, encourage her to choose items that line up with the colors she's already identified. For example, all of her math materials might be green, and all of her language arts materials might be red. If she's using a locker at school, help her practice gathering her items quickly according to each color. Consider color-coding her assignment pad with the same themes, as well.
