Prompting Your Writer
Purchase a letter-sized notebook and break out the colored pencils, scissors, and tape. At the top of a page, write a word or short sentence (such as “the birds flew high up to the tree top”). Have your child draw a picture to match the topic. You could also ask him to write another word or sentence that reflects what you wrote.
