A Poignant WWII Story About a Boy and His Dog

While 11-year-old Hobie’s father is fighting overseas in World War II, Hobie is determined to do his part to help his country.  Hobie decides to volunteer his German Shepherd, Duke, to Dogs for Defense, a program that enlists pets in the military.  With both his dad and dog off at war, Hobie quickly discovers the many meanings of bravery.
