Playing With Food

Introducing finger foods to your baby? Think of it as a great time for your baby to explore textures and the feel of the food she’s eating. That might include lukewarm, soft bits of pasta; smooth, dry pieces of cereal; cool, slippery melon bits; warm, round green peas, and so on. Let the exploration continue as she eats spooned food, too, such as yogurt, applesauce, and cereal. Is she dipping into her food using her fingers? Give her a big bib and let the sensory exploration begin!
