Play the Naming Game

Help your child learn the names of different objects and devise games in which you name objects around the house. In the kitchen there’s a chair and a table and a sink. In the nursery there’s a crib and a teddy bear. Your toddler may not be able to say these words yet, but he’ll certainly understand and eventually begin to mimic the sounds himself.
