Pick Out the "Wrong" Word

This is a good verbal activity for a car ride, or when you have to wait, such as in a doctor’s waiting room. Give your child a list of three or four items, including one which is not related to the others, and ask which is the odd item out. For example: Newspaper, book, magazine, computer. Or, apple, strawberry, banana, plate.
