Pancake Geometry

Encourage geometry language and understanding by using a stack of pancakes and plastic geometric cookie cutters (squares, triangles, circles, etc.). Placing a single pancake in front of your toddler, help her push the cookie cutter down and create a shape. Talk to your child about what the shape looks like, “Look at the square you made.  It has four sides.” Or “This triangle is smaller than that triangle.” Make lots of shapes all through the meal!
