Paint to the Rhythm of Music

Select several different types of music, and gather your family around. Give each person a set of poster paints or water paints and several pieces of paper. Then, as you listen to each piece of music together, create a visual representation of what you're listening to. Encourage your child to paint to the rhythm of the music, so that creations painted to an upbeat tempo will look different from those painted to a slower tempo. When you're done, have everyone label their creations, and take turns guessing which art goes with each selection of music.
