Non-Book Reading Incentives

Want to encourage reading at home? Think beyond books. Reading can be encouraged with other objects such as board games, cookbooks, trading cards, and maps. Pick a subject that your child loves, and think of items having to do with that topic that require reading but aren’t books. Opportunities to read are all around; be creative!
