Mix It Up!

If your child is interested in science, you can introduce some basic skills by letting her help you mix ingredients in the kitchen. She can carefully help pour milk into the dry ingredients for a cake, for example. As she stirs, you can ask her to watch as the liquid turns the dry ingredients into batter. “Look! When we started, the milk was white, but after you mixed it, the batter’s turned yellow!”  What you‘re helping her do is make simple observations.
