Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel

Ask your child: "How long did it take Michelangelo to paint the ceiling of The Sistine Chapel?" The answer: four years. And, he finished despite the many different obstacles he had to overcome, like cold, wet conditions that caused the plaster not to cure; inexperience with the technique; and a curved, irregular canvas. Show your child that Michelangelo’s accomplishment is an inspiration to never give up. Talk about some times when you wanted to give up but persevered.
