Making Your Own Castanets

You know how dramatic, beautiful Spanish dancers use castanets (those small, hand-held instruments that make satisfying clicks)? Make your own for your child to use and click away while she dances. Just take some stiff poster board and cut into rectangles, which you then fold in half so that you end up with a hand-sized square. Inside the fold, securely glue two buttons. Let dry, then give them to your kids to play with – or even have them help decorate them with crayons and stickers for more creative fun!
