Making Cornstarch Finger Paint

A thick, easy-to-play-with finger paint is a great means of letting your baby get creative. But you can also create homemade paint that’s safe, even if your child puts her fingers in her mouth. Put 1 cup water, 2 tablespoons cornstarch, and a splash of milk in a saucepan. Stir over a low flame. When thickened, let it cool. Separate into small bowls and add a drop of food color to each. Voila! Instant finger paint for your baby.
