Make Self-Portraits Together

Gather some art supplies – like paper, markers, and colored pencils – and introduce the idea of making self-portraits together. Explain to your child that a self-portrait is an image that an artist creates of himself. If possible, show him a few examples, such as ones by Vincent van Gogh and Pablo Picasso. Then, begin to make your self-portraits together. Let your child see that your work is subjective and that everyone sees things a little bit differently.
