As wonderful as Harry Potter is, the content within the books isn’t always suitable for young kids. Experts suggest children are ready to read Harry Potter when they can read it in its entirety on their own, generally not before 3rd or 4th grade. However, similar fantasy books can satisfy them until they can jump on the Hogwarts Express.
