Instead of sitting your preschooler in front of the TV or a toy while you gather up the laundry and get the machine going, have him help. Go from room to room with your laundry basket, and have him dump out each family member’s hamper on the floor. Then show him how you sort: white clothes, dark-colored clothes, light-colored, etc.
