Labeling Emotions

Help your child become more verbal, and give her the tools to identify her changing emotions at the same time. That starts with offering word labels for what she seems to be feeling. For example, if she’s upset that a friend of hers wasn’t at preschool, you can say, “It seems that you are feeling sad today.”
