Increase Your Kids' Self-Reliance

You've been taking care of your kids for years, so it's natural to fall right into the pattern of continuing to do everything for them. But remember that becoming more self-reliant is part of growing up, so train yourself to step back and let your kids do what they're capable of doing on their own. For example, let them make their own lunches, pick out their own clothes, and do their hair independently. This frees up your time to focus on other things, and it teaches your kids to take responsibility for getting themselves ready for school.
