How to Focus on Daily Tasks

Distraction is a major time-suck. You’re intent on capitalizing on your baby’s precious 45-minute morning nap, and before you know it, the baby’s up and you only got half-way through your laundry and a quarter of your way through the grocery list. Focus takes practice. If you have one major thing you want to accomplish in a given time period, tell yourself that’s all you’re doing right now. If you’re at work, try not to plan dinner for when you get home. Or, if you have trouble focusing, give yourself a short break from one activity, with a promise you’ll jump right back to the original task at hand.
