This is a good experiment to teach your child how plants take up water through their stalks, and where the water goes. Get a clear vase or tall glass, and fill it halfway with water. Add enough food coloring to tint the water a bright color and then add a white carnation or white daisy. Tell your child to keep an eye on the flower over the next few hours and watch as it changes color!
