Hop and Spell

Here’s a fun way to help your child work on rudimentary spelling skills (especially for 5-year-olds already in kindergarten). Use sidewalk chalk to draw the alphabet outside (or inside, setting out foam letter squares if you have them). Say a simple word your child may know how to spell, and ask her to spell it by hopping onto the right letters in order.  Get full directions here.
