Help Your Child Make Predictions

Remind your child that a prediction is a guess about what's going to happen next in the story. As readers, we make predictions all the time. In fact, that's part of the fun of becoming immersed in a storyline. Help your child develop the skill of making guesses. Every now and then, stop reading and ask your child to share a prediction about the story's plot or a character's actions.
