In a Group

Show your child how to separate objects into groups, which is an easy way to introduce the concept of categorization. Your baby could put all the toy animals together, and all the cars, and all the small dolls. Or he could sort plastic or wood building blocks by color. Provide bowls or baskets, or just pieces of paper on the floor to corral the groups.
