Fine Motor Strength

A major component of pre-writing is building strength in your child’s hands, as well as dexterity. A great way to build strength is to let your child play with playdough, silly putty, or clay. Dexterity is also important; activities like fitting coins into a slot on a bank or stringing beads or Cheerios on a string are good for everyday practice.
