Want your child to have a sophisticated spoken vocabulary? The more varied words your child hears from you, the easier those skills will be for her to learn. Challenge yourself to use different words in ordinary speech. “Oh, it’s chilly today! Don’t you think the air is very cold?” Or, “The dog’s fur is so soft! It feels kind of silky.”
