Don't Reread: Read Smarter

You've seen your child read the same sentence over and over, trying to grasp the meaning of the text. Instead, have your child read with a pencil in hand. Show her how to underline important information and summarize what was read every few lines. This way, your child is actively engaged in the material and won't need to reread sentences.
