Diet Ads: Evidence Must Be Appropriate and Sufficient
Teach your child that claims, in order to be scientific, must have sufficient data to back them up. An ad that shows before-and-after pictures of one person taking diet pills does not have enough data to prove the claim. Hundreds of people must have the same weight loss to make the claim sufficient. Using these false ads is a fun way to teach scientific thinking!
