Describe Everything!

Say your toddler who’s just learning to say a few words points at an apple and says, “app-uh!” Repeating back “Yes, it’s an apple” helps her hone her language skills. But take that one step further and describe the apple. “Yes, that’s an apple! It’s a nice, shiny, red one!” Another example: the dog isn’t just a dog, but a soft, furry dog.
