Create a Language Detective

Play is the best way for young children to learn and develop skills that are fundamental to reading. Why not play word detective, sleuthing out words (or just letters) in the grocery store or anywhere you happen to be that’s rich with words and signs? Ask her to help you find the word “bean” or “ice cream” or the first letter of her name.
