Compare Cups, Pints, Quarts, and Gallons

Does your child get confused by the differences between cups, gallons, pints, and quarts? Open up your refrigerator and compare the capacity of several different containers, such as a container of half-and-half, a bottle of juice, and a gallon of milk. Seeing real-life examples of each will help your child remember the differences between them. As an extension activity, research the number of cups in a pint, pints in a quart, and quarts in a gallon, and let your child use water and a measuring cup to verify what you've learned.
