She may not be able to say “blue” or “red” yet, but your older baby may very well recognize many colors. Point out hues wherever you go, from a bright yellow bowl to her green frog rain boots. Next time you’re finger-painting together, show her simple shade mixing: yellow + blue = green or red + blue = purple.
