Change the Tense

Take a short story or children's book that your child is familiar with, and change the tense. Discuss how doing this changes the meaning of the story, and how the story would be confusing if the tense was inconsistent. Ask her to write a story in present or past tense, while you write a story in the opposite tense. When you're done, share your stories!
