Bend Water With a Comb
Turn the kitchen faucet on to a slow, steady stream. Have your child comb his clean, dry hair 10 or more times to build static electricity. Quickly have your kid approach the stream of water with the comb and watch the water bend toward it. The negatively-charged particles in the comb attract the positively-charged articles in the water, causing the water to bend.
