Answering "Wh" Questions

At around three years old, your child can understand and respond to a whole range of questions that begin with a “wh-“. For example, “what are you doing?” or “why are you smiling?” or “whose doll is this?” A little later, or around age four, she can understand that questions involving "how many" require her to give a number or amount, and that “which” questions require her to answer with a name or a thing.
