All About Writing in the First Grade

Huge strides are made in writing in first grade. Children will spend time writing in journals and exploring different genres. Spelling is important, too. By the end of the year, first graders should be able to spell 130-150 words correctly. Support their learning at home by purchasing a journal and give them ‘starters’ to encourage writing.
