The 5-Minute Rule

If you’ve been waiting all week (or month!) to find the time you’ll need to thoroughly clean a room or your whole house, you might want to rethink how you approach basic cleanup. Instead of waiting until you have an hour, practice the 5-minute rule. That means, before you leave a room (your bedroom, the play area, the kitchen, the bathroom) look around and see what you can accomplish in just five minutes, such as putting dirty dishes in the dishwasher or unloading clean ones, wiping down counters, and cleaning sticky fingerprints from the fridge.
