Thanksgiving Crafts for Kids: Thankful Garland

Materials you will need:

  • Leaf template (download here)
  • Scissors
  • Red, orange, yellow, and green cardstock or construction paper
  • Black marker
  • Hole punch
  • Large sewing needle
  • Thin string
  • Red, orange, yellow, and green pompoms

How to create your garland:

1. Use the leaf template to cut out leaves from the red, orange, yellow, and green cardstock or construction paper. Ask everyone in your family to write down what they are most thankful for on the leaves. Punch two holes on the top of each leaf near the stem. (No hole punch? Just punch through the leaves with the needle.)

2. Thread the sewing needle with the string. Thread three pompoms, then a leaf in the same color spectrum. Repeat with three pompoms, then one leaf until garland is complete. Hang on wall, window, or mantle.
