Healthy Breakfasts: Granola with Dried Cranberries

A healthy combo of oats, nuts, seeds, and dried fruit can make a delicious and fast breakfast.

  • 2 cups jumbo rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 1/2 Tbsp butter
  • 5–6 Tbsp honey
  • 1 large orange rind, grated
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • Nonstick cooking spray


1. Heat oven to 350°F.

2. In a large bowl, mix together oats, almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, ginger, and a pinch of salt.

3. Melt butter with honey, then add the grated rind of the orange. Mix together. Pour over the oat mixture and stir.

4. Spread the mixture on a baking sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown, giving it a stir every 5 minutes to ensure it colors evenly. Let cool, then stir in dried cranberries.

Makes 4–5 servings
