Learning Benefits

1. Royal Gorge Bridge and Park (Canon City, CO)
America’s highest suspension bridge, this wonder towers 1,053 feet above the Arkansas River! Walk it, or check out the park’s other attractions, including a petting zoo, wildlife center, and the Royal Rush Skycoaster. Royalgorgebridge.com

2. Golden gate bridge (San Francisco, CA)
You can head out on your own by foot or bike, but we recommend San Francisco City Guides’ free tours. They’re offered year-round. Sfcityguides.org

3. Brooklyn Bridge (New York, NY)
Through Blazing Saddles, a bike rental company, you can take a 3-hour bike tour ($50 per person) through the surrounding city sites, then over the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, and back. Blazingsaddles.com

4. Chain of rocks bridge (St. Louis, MO)
This mile-long span that crosses the Mississippi River, once part of historic U.S. Route 66, is now one of the longest bicycle and pedestrian bridges in the world. It’s famous for the way it bends at a 22-degree angle in the middle. Confluencegreenway.org
