The Vacation

The Vacation

by Polly Horvath
When his parents fly off to Africa to be missionaries, 12-year-old Henry is left with his two less than pleasant aunts, Magnolia and Pigg. Recovering from a serious illness, Mag decides they should all go on a road trip to no particular destination. Bickering all the way, they end up in Virginia Beach, which is too hot, the Everglades, where Henry floats in a swamp for four days, and Oklahoma, where Pigg falls in love with a cowboy and abandons the trip. Meanwhile, they get word that Henry's parents are coming back and will join them for the rest of the journey. Much to Henry's dismay, his parents are fighting too! What is Henry to do? Find out as you read The Vacation, filled with a cast of eccentric characters, unpredictable situations, and poignant moments.
