by Rudyard Kipling Illustrated by Lambert Davis

A classic story from Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, adapted and illustrated by award-winning artist Jerry Pinkney, this is the tale of Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, a fearless young mongoose.

Rikki-tikki-tavi is a curious little mongoose who winds up with an English family living in India after a flood washes him away from his parents' home. While exploring the grounds of his new home, Rikki learns of the two dangerous cobras, Nag and Nagaina, who live in and rule the garden. The snakes are willing to attack Rikki, and even the human family who lives there, to claim the garden and house for themselves. But they do not count on the heart and pride of the brave little mongoose. Rikki will have to use all of his instincts for killing snakes to deal with the two deadly cobras.
