In the Heart of the Sea

by Nathaniel Philbrick
In 1819, the 238-ton Essex set sail from Nantucket on a routine voyage for whales. The crew members face a daunting situation after their ship is rammed and sunk by a sperm whale. Located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, the crew members attempt to survive the incredibly long journey toward South America in three tiny boats.
