Bookmarks Are People Too!

Bookmarks Are People Too!

by Lin Oliver, Henry Winkler Illustrated by Scott Garrett

The star of the bestselling Hank Zipzer series is back, only this time he's in 2nd grade! Hank doesn't try to be funny, but he somehow always makes the other kids in his class laugh. When Hank's teacher announces that the class is putting on a play, he wants the lead part: Aqua Fly. But Hank freezes in his audition and can only stand there buzzing. His teacher creates a special part for him, a silent bookmark. This may seem like an insignificant role, but when his enemy, Nick McKelty, also panics during the performance, it's up to Hank to save the play!

Hank's learning difficulties have not yet been diagnosed in the first book in this new series, and he struggles with feeling like his brain is full of "soggy oatmeal." Luckily, his teacher and classmates are supportive. Co-written by actor Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver, the book is set in a typeface Hank would appreciate, Dyslexie, which was specifically designed to help young readers with dyslexia differentiate letters and words.
